Ascent Trip ReportSunday solo ascent. Second of 6 successful (and one attempted) DPS and CA P2K (2000 ft prominence) peaks in the far SE corner of California.
Road erosion now makes the DPS "2WD" starting point really a 4WD start. I was able to drive a Jeep, However, easily to the 4WD start. I suggest you walk from there almost to the next pole, across the wash first. THEN you can walk on the relatively smooth and even north rim of the wash. If you just cut eastward from your vehicle, you will be traversing a much rougher, rockier route before you reach the ravine.
