Ascent Trip Reportw Monica. Went to the Adam Ezra concert at The Stone Church the night before and slept in the car at the trailhead. While the original plan was to hike Lafayette and Lincoln dangerous weather conditions on the ridge made us change our plans and hike Carrigain instead. Andrew camped out at 2,500 feet and our plan was to meet-up with him, and that's what we did. Since Sawyer River Road is closed, a 10 mile hike turns into a 14 mile hike because you have to hike what in summer you drive. Most people had wanted to do Franconia Ridge so when it changed they dropped out - we will get there on a good weather day. The hike in was just Monica and I sin e we were meeting Andrew on the trail. It was about 10 degrees with little wind - the skies were blue and the sun was out. We knew that wouldn't last because whenever we hike Carrigain we get crappy weather and limited views. By the time we got to the summit the winds along the rite and picked up and the dark storm clouds rolled in. Right on cue. Pretty slow today - finished in book time. We were the only ones on the mountain until we passed a group of three that had gotten a real late start.
