Ascent Trip ReportDebb and I camped at Bunny Flat - started out aroun 08:30 for Helen Lake. Packs were pretty heavy, though can't think of anything we took we didn't use. There was no water at Horse Camp so had to haul all of our water from the trailhead. Our trip was very late in the season and a year when the commercial trips stopped in July. We only saw a dozen people the whole time we were on the trail. Maybe 5 other people climbing the day we went to the summit. After camping at Helen Sunday night, we made our push to the summit on Monday the 10th. Had set the alarm for 5:00, but didn't get going up until 6:45. By the time we got down, packed our camp and went on down the trailhead it was dark (about 20:45).
