Ascent Trip Report

AREA 1 ...... walk on a RR track ....1.5 miles, 40 minutes RT.
I had no problem following Fred Lobdell's directions from his Trip Reports of 1999/2000, Highpointers are thankful for his excellent historical research.
We drove Fred's roads directly to the Hardaway Church on CR268, parked the van and hiked the RR Tracks (north of west) .8 miles to where the RR Tracks starts curving to the right, here I turned right and scrambled up the steep embankment to the narrow ridge. As luck would have it I was right on the highground, I chose my spot at 30.64909, 84.75014 and marked it with an orange flag tape. The PB coordinates puts it in a lower elevation.
The narrow ridge is open pine, to the north (below) is a woods road, few yards to the east is a Concrete Post Marker engraved "SJPC", beyond is an old shed.

AREA 2 ..... a drive-by.
From Area 1 we drove secondary roads to the intersection of 267/CR483(Shade Farm Road), then north on 267 half a mile to the gated entrance on the left "Florida A&M University, Agricultural Research Center", located on a huge flat open fenced-in area ..... I walked in the main gate up the road to a bit of a land-swell visible at 100 yards in. I stomped the high ground.

"THE CHALLENGES THAT APPEAR ARDUOUS AND UNSCALABLE AT THE BEGINNING .... TEND TO MODERATE AS YOU PROCEED FORWARD."
