Ascent Trip ReportLeft the farm at 0400. Got to parking lot on 302 near Zealand road at 0615. Snowshoed in to Hale Brook trail head, arriving at 0755. Took time for pictures but still made summit by 1000. Very very cold but an otherwise nice hike in. The sun never seemed to penetrate the tree cover inside the draw. Very little wind but what was blowing cut straight through you. The switch backs were the best; with chrystal covered branches of the leafless birches glistening above the snow laden spruce. By standing on the top of the cairn, you can get a bit of view... but the trees are taking back over.
