Ascent Trip Report

First hike after Ironman Hawaii. Awesome trail, steep and rocky in some places, but well worth the views of San Diego County and out East. First 1.5 miles is wider trail with some rocky bits. Slight saddle and flat section for 1/4 mile. Final ascent begins with switchbacks up towards the peak. To add an extra few miles, some folks hike the Ellie Lane loop. But we stayed on main trail.
