Ascent Trip ReportI approached Brushy Mountain from Hwy 101, the Avenue of the Giants, and the Founders Grove on the Eel River. I parked just east of the grove where a road goes down to the river. I hiked the railroad tracks and crossed the old abandoned trestle that crosses the Eel River. Once on the the north side, I scrambled up to a logging road and followed it east towards the summit. I passed a white house that is a hunting cabin about half way there. There is a fire break/old road that goes north/south over the summit. Snow on the ground above 2,500 ft. Beautiful day. Some nice redwoods lower down along the road. Long hike....
