Ascent Trip ReportAfter ascending Echo Mountain, I continued on the Sam Merrill Trail to Inspiration Point. From there I approached the summit initially by a road -- muddy, overgrown. Then, not noticing the signed trail heading up to the summit, I proceeded off-trail. The views from the summit are quite gorgeous, and I found the cloudy weather pleasantly altered the quality of the sunlight over the city.
My return route was mostly cross-country. Eventually joined the Lowe Railroad trail back to Echo Mountain.
