Ascent Trip Report

Our annual New Year's Eve "climb a mountain and slide down" adventure.
Like last year's hike, the snow cover is pretty minimal. This year was even more difficult, temps were in the upper 30's and the snow was melting fast.
The hike was mostly slushy with some ice, made the going very slow.
With so much moisture under the snow, stepping off trail into the snow was just as slippery as the snow didn't adhere to anything anymore.
It was slow, but we made the peak just before midnight, was a bit windy on top, but not too cold.
Caught some fireworks on the way down- pretty cool!

Even though is started to rain a couple of times, kids had a great time sliding back down the mountain!
