Ascent Trip ReportStarted the hike at 10:45 with Gudi and Kaekae from the Unknown Pond Trail at the end of Mill Brook Rd. The was a fresh dusting of snow on the ground at the base and maybe an inch or so at the peaks. Kaekae was ill prepared for the snow and her feet soon got cold so she returned to the car just before reaching the Unknown pond. The Unknown pond trail was a pleasant hike, steady up, but not steep at all. Continued on to the Horn, the Bulge and Cabot via the Cabot Trail. Used micro-spikes which made it easy to walk in the snow. Reached the Horn at 12:35, the Bulge at 1:00 and Mt. Cabot at 1:30. Was back at the car at 3:20.
There was some nice views from the Horn and somewhat limited views from Mt. Cabot.
On the return trip, the GPSr batteries went dead. Even with fresh ones, I couldn't get it to turn back on, so the GPS track is not complete.
