Ascent Trip ReportOn a gorgeous November day we went up the Kinsman Ridge from the Tramway parking lot.
It is a pretty steady up the entire way. We ran into some pretty bad ice stretches and needed to put on micro spikes. The ice then changed to a couple of inches of hard packed snow/ice.
On the lower section it is amazing how deep the trail has been washed away.
We started at 10:15, Kaekae and I reached Cannon summit at 12:20. After some sight seeing and pictures, she waited at the sunny summit while I went over to the North East peak of The Cannon Balls.
The decent to the col was VERY slippery, luckily I had spikes. Went by many slipping and sliding hikers who did not have any crampons.
But with the slippery conditions it took an hour to summit The Cannon Balls and return to Cannon where Kaekae and I headed back down the mountain.
The views from Cannon were gorgeous today!
