Ascent of Mount San Antonio on 2009-10-03| Date: | Saturday, October 3, 2009 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount San Antonio | | Location: | USA-California | | Elevation: | 10064 ft / 3067 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStarted hike at 6 am; back at 12 noon; climbed via Baldy Bowl Trail from Mankers Flat Trailhead. Arrived at ski hut at 0731 hr. Followed two other hikers so i would not miss the trail that takes off with little notice above the fire road. This crucial turn is located after the road makes a sharp left after the long stretch past the San Antonio Falls. Summited between 0918 - 0929 hr. It was very gusty (and cold as a result) at the summit, but clear with great views. Arrived back at car/Mankers Flat at 1142 hr.
