Ascent of Fairington Cemetery-West Peak on 2010-10-29| Date: | Friday, October 29, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Fairington Cemetery-West Peak | | Location: | USA-Vermont | | Elevation: | 2913 ft / 887 m |
Ascent Trip Report Encircling the upper mountain at about the 2850 foot contour was a single strand of barbed wire aprox. 2+- years old, at a consistent knee level, perfect for impaling a knee which I nearly did. Obviously connected in some way to the gauging tower up top.
It is a snag for collecting black bear hair, in order to determine bear movements and corridors through this tract to better understand the impact future wind turbines on this site will have on bears.
