Ascent Trip Reporte next day, Packman and I hiked to Bear Mtn., climbed to the top of the tower and ended the hiking day in the Bear Mountain Zoo. I ended up seeing my first black bear of the trip right here. I even managed to get a picture before it disappeared!! After a nice motel stay near West Point, we hiked the 6 miles to the Graymoor Friary, where hikers have been treated to an all you can eat meal for some years now.
