Ascent Trip ReportThe next day, the terrain went from mountains to forest. Walking thru Jefferson National Forest's flat woods was a nice change from all the mountains that we had done up until that point. I even had a staring contest with a white tailed deer for a few minutes. Soren and I stopped at an awesome lake in teh middle of the wilderness for lunch and hiked up a mountain later that afternoon to get our first views of the valley that Pearisburg is located in
