Ascent Trip ReportWe started this classic Franconia Ridge loop hike at 7:50am. The weather was not ideal but not bad either. There were some flurries along the trail. The waterfalls were beautiful as recent rain had probably fed them. As we approached the summit of Little Haystack there were a lot of hikers turning back who either did not have the right gear for above tree line or just did not want to attempt the ridge crossing. It was very windy and cold but we all suited up and made it across without any problems. We were back at the car by around 5:30pm. We spent a good amount of time relaxing at the hut on the way down. This was Erika's first 4000-footer hike.
