Ascent of Mount Frissell-South Slope on 2010-10-16Date: | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Mount Frissell-South Slope | Location: | USA-Connecticut/Massachusetts | Elevation: | 2372 ft / 722 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI parked on the MA/CT border east of Mt Frissell and hiked the Mt Frissell trail. I hiked over Round Mtn and then on to Mt Frissell, the CT State High Point, and then the Tri-State MA/CT/NY marker. All hiking stats are combined on this trip report. The trail was kind of slick in the rocky sections because of the recent rains and the wet leaves were thick along the trail. Some good views along this trail. The hike down to the Tri-State marker added .5 mile and 230 ft of elevation gain to the hike from the CT state high point.
