Ascent of Mount Lafayette on 2010-10-12| Date: | Tuesday, October 12, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount Lafayette | | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | | Elevation: | 5240 ft / 1597 m |
Ascent Trip ReportLafayette was the fourth summit this day and my ultimate goal. I parked at the Lafayette Campground parking lot and hiked up the Falling Water trail to the summit of Little Haystack. This trail crosses Falling Water Brook 6 times and only the first crossing is bridged. Pretty trail with several water falls and good views from the summit. From the summit of Little Haystack I followed the AT north to Lincoln, Truman, and then Lafayette before heading down the Greenleaf Trail to the Greenleaf Hut and then the Bridle Path trail back to the car. All hiking stats are on this Lafayette Trip Report. Great views from Little Haystack all the way to Lafayette and half way down to the hut.
