Ascent Trip Report

Began hiking at 11:13AM. Summit at 1:00PM. Back to Subaru at 2:25PM.

Drove the Subaru up to a good parking area prior to the road turning into ruts. Saw a mine shaft on the trail before reaching a meadow that had a barricade blocking motorized use on the trail on the far side. I followed the trail to the ridge line, then left it heading east. I passed over one false summit and then reached the top. It was socked in at the top and I still had never seen the peak during my approach. On the way down I went straight south towards the trail and picked up an old camp pad bag that was caught on a tiny tree. The clouds lifted and I could actually see the peak! There was also some snow off the east face, still. I made it back to my car, but then took it for a little highpointing of its own. I got a picture of it for my black and white class on the top of spot elevation 7722'. It was a great day to get out on my own challenge myself.
