Ascent Trip Report

I missed the turn to the forest road previous climbers describe, but when we passed the entrance to the wind turbines on US 219, the gate to the access road was open and two men were working close to the entrance. The gate clearly had no trespassing signs, but I asked one fellow if it was OK if I hiked up the road to the county high point. He looked at me like I was daft, and replied,"makes no never mind to me bub."

From the gate to the last turbine is 2.12 miles, certainly farther than the route up the forest road, but you get a closeup view of the wind turbines as well as views in both directions most of the way as the road follows the ridgeline and they apparently cut lots of trees when they put up the turbines. I agree that the high spot is southwest of the last turbine.
