Ascent Trip Reportvery easy walk to Arkansas' high point (and Logan County). My wife's family is from Paris AR which is the northern gateway to Magazine Mountain. I have stayed at the beautiful lodge several times, but never went to the marker until this latest trip. The easy way to the top is to park at the Lodge and walk east to the opposite side of the street from cabin 5. The very well worn trail winds through wooded area which prevents any kind of few. It is pretty in it's own way, but is somewhat lacking in awe. The best views are from the lodge. The walk is about .6 miles each way so up is about 10 minutes and slightly less than that down. All told from the lodge is 1.3 miles. Take the time to walk around to the campsites and the lodge to take in the beauty. The roads up the lodge are great and are easy. It is about 30 minutes up from Paris and about the same from Havana on the southern entry point.
