Ascent Trip Report

Thanks to previous peak baggers for their careful directions. The road just east of the county line is signed Fire Tower Road. The track to the left 0.8 miles up this road was easily passable for my Hyundai Tucson for a couple of hundred yards. From there it's about a 7-8 minute walk up. The area around the tower is pretty flat for 20-30 yards. I took spot altimeter readings all over with not much more than 3-4 feet variation, probably within the margin of error of my GPS altimeter. The highest reading around the tower was 2982 at the northwest corner of the fence around the tower, but the county high point may be west of that along the power line path.
