Ascent Trip ReportWe camped at the trail head with the intention of an early start. We got what we asked for. At 1:47 AM we were awakened by a some noise followed by a growl. Our best guess is that the alarm clock was actually a bear. At 2:10AM we realized that neither of us were sleeping, and figured it was time to start hiking.
The alpine start was amazing. The stars were fantastic. Several meteorites were visible. A few deer greeted us just below treeline with glowing eyes. The sun sent its glow just in time for the scramble.
The upper section was as tough as I figured, but with Troy's help I slew my white whale. Lindsey was the site of two unsuccessful attempts; neither weather nor fear would stop us this time.
Berg Heil.
