Ascent Trip ReportI've been getting really lucky with the weather on the days I have off. This was a gorgeous Saturday for a hike. I love the town of Woodstock so this trip was extra special for me. Some very excited hippie stood at the village green and waved to me as I turned onto CR 33 so that was a nice start. This was a unique hike as the trail was really more a gravel road which you could easily drive a car up if there wasn't a barrier at the trailhead. As usual 360 degree views from the tower were stunning as well as from the lookout just down past the observer's cabin. I spent most of my time however among the ruins of the old Overlook Hotel. There were at least 5 other people walking around taking pictures or just exploring the area. Only bad part of the day was when I got back to the parking area two guys were fighting about parking in the lot and going to the temple across the street. I had to finally tell them to relax and since I was leaving he could have my spot. All in all though a great day with grreat views and #21 in the FTC.
