Ascent Trip Report

Rode the cog train up to the Jungfraujoch and hiked to the Monch Hutte and overnighted there. The next morning we set out just before dawn up the SE ridge of the Monch, climbing in overcast and then white out. The rock climb at the bottom was straightforward. The snow higher up was soft and well tracked. The summit ridge is spectacular and exposed, but the boot track was good, although soft. The weather started to clear as we were on the summit and was glorious once we got off the summit ridge. A great introduction to climbing in the Alps. We returned to the hut for the night and climbed the Jungfrau the next day.
