Ascent Trip Report

OK our second high peak. Stacy and I drove up the 87 northway and up the 73 again this time stopping just before Chapel Pond on the left. The trail head was just across the street to the north. This time I loaded my over night pack to get use to a little more weight on my back. The weather was just a little cooler out and rain was able to be seen in the distance. And this time we got Stacy some hiking sticks which helped gain confidence. This hike was more difficult and a hot meal on the top tasted great. Tried out my new micro stove and chicken and rice freeze dried meal in a bag. Not bad and bought more after that. The view was just as nice as Cascade and even more people on this peak then our last. We hit just a little rain on the way down but nothing we were not ready for this time. Nice seeing the Twin Pond from the trail on the way down, we saw it on the way up too but it was not in front of us then. And even at the first overlook looking down at Chapel Pond you could see my Buttercup parked on the side of the street. And my legs did not hurt too bad after that hike, but my shoulders did. Glad I carried a heavy pack, cause we were looking at an over night trip next. Oh ya total time on this hike was just over 8 hours.
