Ascent of Mount Olympus on 2010-09-10| Others in Party: | Phillip Walker | | Date: | Friday, September 10, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount Olympus | | Location: | USA-Utah | | Elevation: | 9026 ft / 2751 m |
Ascent Trip ReportStarted before dawn and wandered for an hour as the trail cut back and we didn't see it. Finally got on the right trail and pushed up the mountain. Very steep in places and a narrow trail. Worth it for the view at the end, but you have to climb up a couple hundred feet of rock via scramble. Pretty intense but when you look at Mt. Olympus from the valley floor you feel like a champ knowing you stood on top.
