Ascent Trip Report

***Sierra Club Sierra Peaks Section Outing***
Intended as 2nd WTC experience trip. Backpacked up McGee Creek on Saturday (8-21-10)to Big McGee Lake where we made camp. Peak was scheduled for Sunday but high winds (25 - 35 mph w/ gusts to 50 mph) prevented safe ascent. We hiked up to Little McGee Lake instead. Spent Sunday night at camp and then packed out on Monday. Spectacular area with abundant wildflowers, gorgeous granite topped by metamorphics. Nice, well marked trail.
