Ascent Trip Report

This is one of those peaks that makes me glad I was on my way to somewhere else. The view was expansive (clear skies), but there wasn't much of interest to look at.
Even though it was mid afternoon on Labor Day weekend, the tower wasn't open, and I was quite disappointed to see at least three vehicles (without ADA tags) drive up to the steps of the tower in spite of VERY clear signs prohibiting such activity. Really?! It's not like the 40' gain from the parking area was all that daunting.
This was a nice stretch-break between western NY and central CT, but really nothing more. How do people live in places without mountains?!
