Ascent of Doyle Peak on 2010-09-06| Date: | Monday, September 6, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Doyle Peak | | Location: | USA-Arizona | | Elevation: | 11460 ft / 3493 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThe trip up Doyle was straightforward enough - the hike up the west slope was class 2. The hike down to the pass between Doyle and Schultz peaks was a little challenging due to an incredible amount of downed trees. I noticed some of the trees had been cut - I wonder if leaving tons of downed trees around was responsible for how quickly and large the recent Schultz fire grew. Around the pass, there was considerable evidence of the fire.
