Ascent Trip ReportOne of several back country trails down to the river starts just west of the headquarters. You need to sign a permission form provided by the rangers, including a waiver for responsibility for injuries. The "trail," if it can be called that, is one of the steepest I've ever done, including, at one point, a series of chains to slide down and pull yourself up on the ascent. Because my wife was waiting at the top I turned around at roughly the three quarters point.
