Ascent Trip ReportI paid the evil fee to drive the road. The road is a winner, crowded enough that the oncoming traffic makes the exposure exciting. Who said that hiking is harder than driving? Well maybe it is but driving this was scarier than hiking Elbert. I held my breath and my car never overheated. Near the top there were a lot of goats at play which had the tourists fascinated. I made quick work of the closed trail to the top and touched the highest boulder. Silly CMC rules would not let me count this but screw that. If you've been to the highpoint, you've been to the highpoint.
