Ascent Trip Report

My first of many (about ten so far as I write this) trips up this trail, perhaps the most popular trail in Northern New Mexico. From Taos Ski Valley follow the dirt road (about 1.8 miles) up to the large trail head parking area near the Bavarian Inn--a nice place for lunch after your hike.

Williams Lake is about two miles and 1000 feet of elevation gain (the lake is 900 feet above the trailhead but there's a higher saddle just before you reach the lake)--an easy hour hike if you're fit and acclimated to the altitude.
