Ascent Trip ReportThis climb was very tough for me as I started out not feeling well and about 1/3 way up the trail to Willey I was feeling miserable and about to toss my cookies. Had to take lots of rest stops. Finally reached the top and had to take a quick cat nap...perhaps the best thing I did to help me. Thanks Karine for letting me nap a bit longer :)
This day was perfect for hiking as the views were really great. The trails were full of fresh green moss which added to the character of the trails. Feeling a bit better we started heading to Field along with another group of nice folks that were going our speed. Before I knew it we were at the peak. I couldn't eat much other than some peanuts and grapes. Anything else would have turned my stomach. After Field we decided that Tom was in and we aimed right for it. While on Tom we decided to look for a geocache which I'm glad we did because the first location we thought was the summit wasn't. The cache took us right by the real summit.
We finished the hike around 5pm (started at 9am after car spotting at the AMC Highland Center). Longer than book time but hey...still counts. The worst day hiking is still better than the best day at the office.
