Ascent Trip ReportSierra and I joined a group hike to Big Indian and Fir. We left Biscuit Brook PA at 9:20 AM. The group maintained a good pace as we ascended the Pine Hill-West Branch trail and took the herd path to Big Indian's summit by 12:00. We ate lunch and relaxed for about half an hour before starting the bushwhack to Fir. This is my first year of bushwhacks and the first since Lone and Rocky in early June. I couldn't believe how much thicker the vegetation had become since then. We moved very slowly to the saddle between Big Indian and Fir. We reached the summit around 3:30. The descent from Fir featured less ledges than Big Indian, and we made it back to the PA by 6:45. Total Distance - 10.25 miles
