| Elevation:||8054 ft / 2454 m|
Ascent Trip ReportGarfield was the second (and fourth) peak of the day, bookending our ascent of Applegate Peak. We parked between Rim Village and the lodge, then walked east around the lodge to the trail. The trail was very well maintained, even paved (ugh) for the first tenth of a mile or so. While the peak certainly had a great view, owing to the lake, this was easily the least spectacular of all the peaks around Crater Lake.
After summiting we started back down the trail for one or two hundred feet, then headed down the south ridge on the way to Applegate. The descent info is from after the second ascent of the peak, when we were heading back to the lodge.
