Ascent Trip ReportTook another trip south to find this highpoint, as we totally missed it earlier this month. Found the correct trail up just .7 miles south of the little church in the valley. Not too hard to find once you know what you are looking for. As you head south from the little church, you will come to curves on the road that have large rectangular signs with arrows. Just past the second set you will see a pull off on the right side of the road (just past the tight turn to the right). If you look into the trees across the road to the left, you will see a small white wooded sign up in a tree (14" x 6") that says "MARYLAND HIGHPOINT". Cross the road and hang a right on the gravel road. Trees have red spray paint "HP" on them from time to time. Just follow the road up and you should have no problems at all. At the time we climbed, there was a little "arch" made of small stones at a "Y" near the top of the climb. Take the left fork and you are just minutes away from the highpoint. Nice picnic table at the site, as well as a mailbox with a log inside. Looked around a bit for an official marker, but did not see one. Perhaps it's under the pile of stones? Nice hike!
