Ascent Trip Report

Located in the Tug Hill Plateau, southwest side of Lewis County ...... drive-up to Communication Towers. I used Gary Fallesen's book as my source of information.

Approaching from the north find your way to the village of Lowville (in the center of the County) and drive south on hwy #26 for 10.8 miles to Turin (passing through Martinsburg and Hoseville) and a right turn on West Road (Lewis County Road 51). Travel on West Road for 1.5 miles to a right turn on asphalted Gomer Hill Road (barn with 3 silos on corner).
At 100 yards Gomer Hill Road stays right at a Y junction and continues as a dirt road, to the left is asphalted Lyman Road. You can follow either one as they meet up on the ridge. I followed the rough Gomer Hill Road (probably better to take the asphalted Lyman Road) and turned right when it met up with Lyman Road and continues as an asphalted road. The road winds/climbs the plateau, passes Mackay Road on the left, Brenon Road on the right and goes over the crest of the road to a narrow dirt road on the right (3.9 miles from West Road). I found this road to be unsigned however Fallesen names the road as "Lookout Drive".
It is .3 miles to the flat/wooded summit with 7 Communication Towers, a platform and a number of buildings ...... bushwacked/stomped my way around making sure to touch all of the highpoints.
