Ascent of North Mountain on 2010-07-05| Date: | Monday, July 5, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | North Mountain | | Location: | USA-Washington | | Elevation: | 3840 ft / 1170 m |
Ascent Trip ReportDean and I hiked up the road to the Fire Look Out and then came back down a little to an obscure flagged overgrown old logging road that heads out towards the high point. This is a total bushwhack. In places the road was swampy. The road passes on the east slope of the high point, so we climbed the steep slope up to the ridge. We climbed around a steep slabby rock area and made a Class 3 move up an old stump to gain the ridge and then beat our way along the ridge until we passed the the high point. Very unremarkable peak with no views. Nasty bushwhack and we got dirty and wet.
