Ascent Trip ReportAfter driving all night through Colorado, we watched the sun rise as we headed to Kansas. Just as we turned off towards the highpoint, the region became enveloped in low clouds. A fairly straightforward drive along dirt road brought us to Mt Sunflower. There are no directional signs until you are within a mile or two. My wife and I walked the last 0.4 mile to the summit. There are no sunflowers to be seen near the summit, but there were a lot of coneflowers (which I understand to be members of the sunflower family) present. The peak has changed its "sculpture" a little since the official peakbagger photo, hence I am including an up to date photo.
