Ascent Trip Report

Directions: Take graded gravel/dirt road 82 either from US 50 south for about 53 miles or north from Belmont for 20 miles to the turnoff for Mosquito creek/Morgan Creek access to Table Mountain wilderness. The road is signed but you need to look carefully for the road as the sign is off the main road to the north. Drive this dirt road for 5.6 miles to the North Mosquito creek stream crossing where if you have a sedan you will need to park here. Cross the streambed and turn right for .3 miles to the junction with signed North Mosquito trailhead, turn left. This road is sandy and rough but it is only about a mile to the trailhead. The unmarked trailhead is off to the left(north) around a rock outcropping and is fairly easy to follow up to 8600ft where it crosses the creek and then becomes difficult to find in the sagebrush. Just keep heading uphill towards point 9269 on a topo map, from there you will see the summit ridgeline and you can scout your route up through groves of trees and sagebrush. The summit is marked with a large rock cairn and has a registry.
