Ascent Trip ReportWe started the day at 8am and proceeded to go up Sugarloaf through a path we thought was the easiest ascent. Through a comedy of errors we ended up ascending via the Gondola path which turned out to be a double diamond slope. Ok, that kill our energy from the get go. We then proceeded to go to Spaulding which looked intimidating from a distance. After getting some rest we decided to brave it and head to Abraham knowing that we're going to have to turn back the same way we came in. So after spending a short period on top of Abraham we headed back through Spaulding. At that point dusk had set in. By the time we made it to the valley between Spaulding and Sugarloaf (9pm) it was pitch black. So out come the head lights and we ended up hiking up Sugarloaf and down the other side in the dark. Overall, it took us 17.6 miles, 14.5 hours, 6 liters of water (we ran out the last mile btw) and 7400 feet of ascent to get back to the car. What an experience that was.
