Ascent Trip ReportArtski and I rode our motorcycles all the way to Illinois for this special occasion only state highpoint. This was or first highpoint of any kind where we found others at the summit since Harney Peak. We parked at the end of the owner's driveway and began the walk up the long dirt road to the top. It was over a mile and longer than expected. The heat didn't help either. However, this being a state highpoint, we were awfully excited to get to the top. Once there, we found that the only real vista from the top overlooks neighboring Wisconsin, and you can see a few higher mounds across the state line. Not as spectacular as we thought, but it was fun to talk to other highpointers and geocachers. The walk back was uneventful.
