Ascent Trip ReportI hadn't gone hiking in nearly a year, and I was itching to go. What better destination than the most popular hike in Washington State, Mt. Si.
I raced up the hike; spent about an hour 15 up, and ran down in just under half an hour. I got a late start around 4pm, but saw lots of people climbing with kids, dogs, whatnot. The summit scramble is maybe 100 feet of class 3, but not too difficult if you have ever scrambled. I wouldn't recommend it in the rain though, a fall will surely be uncontrolled and painful.
It appears to be a good hike for conditioning for greater challenges; about 4 miles each way with 3400 foot gain, and only half an hour from down town Seattle.
