Ascent of Mont de la Table on 2010-06-25| Date: | Friday, June 25, 2010 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mont de la Table | | Location: | Canada-Québec | | Elevation: | 1179 m / 3871 ft |
Ascent Trip ReportI had to go uphill all the way to the summit cairn to retrieve my handbag. From there, it was a matter of retracing my steps down towards lac de la Table. I met the creek that leads into it and followed it until I hit the trail. This must have been an old jeep trail as in some spots I could see some twin ruts. It was easy to follow but hard to navigate as the melting snow had inundated most of the flat spots. At this point, my boots were completely soaked, but I felt it was better to step in the water than to trudge around it in the flora. The descent was quite uneventful and after around 20 minutes, I finally saw a wooden walkway straight ahead.
The orange flags are after all clearly visible from the main trail and it starts a few hundred feet after la Camarine.
