Ascent Trip ReportDoh. Talk about annoying. Took the Bear Camp Road which is absolutely plastered with signs to guide you as well as warnings about winter travel. The legacy of James Kim's foolish and tragic tale. Anyway, got to the saddle where you turn off the road and was immediately blocked by a snow bank. Damn. Had to walk the road about 7 miles RT and there were only two lingering snowbanks and the rest was dry. Lame. Saw a very young bear. Backed off and then made myself known but never saw momma bear. Exciting nonetheless. Good trail to the top and at about 5100' there is a faint fork uphill right that will take you all the way to the summit. Wide views. Lingering snow probably gone in a week. Oh well. I bet it would have been snow free if I had driven down to Agnes and then back up the SW side but that would have taken even longer than it took to walk the road for 7 miles.
