Ascent of Greens Peak on 2010-06-18
|Date:||Friday, June 18, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||10133 ft / 3088 m|
Ascent Trip ReportGreens Peak is one of only 17 ranked peaks over 10,000 feet in Arizona, so I had to summit it. While I could have driven to the summit (dirt road but good enough for passenger cars), I wanted some exercise. I would have preferred to make it a longer hike, but it was getting late.
There is a fire lookout tower at the summit, and while it is fenced off when it is unoccupied, one can easily climb the fence on the back side of the entrance as there is no barbed wire there.
