Ascent Trip ReportMy friends are very good sports....
Somehow, I managed to talk 4 other people into letting me drag them an hour out of the way to a knoll in the panhandle of Florida. Rob, Ben, Lora, Leslie and myself left Knoxville, TN late on a Thursday evening to go to an ultimate tournament in Destin, Florida and stopped in Birmingham, Alabama at my girlfriend's house for the night. Friday morning we awoke and hit the road for Britton Hill, stopping along the way at Hank Williams Sr boyhood home.
We located the HP with just a bit of trouble navigating the back roads but did climb the lowest state in the Union on a sunny afternoon.
We didn't stay too long as we did want to get to the beach before dark
Overall, I'm not sure they were impressed with their first high point experience but I thank them for humoring me.
