Ascent Trip ReportThis was a great trip with great weather (finally). The hike itself is cake as an efficient trail gets you to the top. The tricky aspect is getting to that trail. It involves either a long approach hike or use of a boat. We went with the boat and rented the drive it yourself boats from the Ross Lake Resort. A quick drop down from the highway and a telephone call garnered us a pickup. The boats felt a little slow and it took us maybe an hour and a half each way to get to the TH. We had to find the proper landing point but in later season there is a dock available. From there we found the trail up and then up up and away. Very efficient good trail and then I just loved the views on this hike. Nothing more to say but it was excellent. Only the hassle of getting there prevents this from being an exceedingly popular hike I am sure. The lookout was not yet open for the season.
