Ascent Trip Report The trek up from Mirror Lake is really straight forward; just be sure to pay attention to the signs as you come upon the lake. The actual summit is beyond the first viewpoint on the top of the ridge that you will come to. There is a trail that continues beyond that viewpoint, although it is much smaller than the one leading up; it seems most turn around at this viewpoint.
Apparently one of the guidebooks that includes this hike relays that there is some kind of bird sanctuary on top of this peak. I find this unlikely, as there are ZERO markings, signs, or obstacles that would back that up. There is also a well maintained road (from the east) with some type of signal tower at the summit.
There was spotty snow from Mirror Lake upward, becoming about 2-3' of snow in places where there was any shade. The rocks along the top of the ridge were bare and made excellent seats.
